He does look adorable smiling.

I think it is admirable that you have spent the best part of your career working in these schools. Many have not done nearly as much as you. You do have different priorities right now and you have to put yourself and your family first. You may feel you can go back to these schools some time in the future but for now I think it's credit to you that you have invested so much time and effort into kids so many would rather forget.
I hope this week is goes OK too.

He has a beautiful smile. He looks so much like Matthew in this pic!

Did you stay for so long int his particular school because it was a "poorer" school? What I am saying is, does it matter to you which school you are teaching at? If it doesn't, then I think it would be great if you could teach closer to home. I hope you are doing well...I miss you too.

The Nanny

You've devoted a lot of time, resources, love and energy to so many you should absolutely put that same amount of time, resources, love and energy into yourself and especially your adorable little one!

Though I don't even know you, I do really admire and respect you for what you've done for those kids for so long. Now I hope you find a job next year that's much easier and better for you.

P.S. Did I mention how cute Andy is? I love that grin with those chubby cheeks!

I'm in a totally different situation and career than you, but I understand and sympathize with your struggle. For what it's worth (and it's probably not much), it sounds to me like you've made the right decision and that you're at peace with it.

Sorry it is tough. At least leaving your little one while you are at work isn't as difficult as you thought it would be.

It is a tough decision, but the schools closer to you need good teachers too!

I have a teacher friend who went through the same thing you are going through now. She taught for 3 years in a "poorer" school district and just got sick of all the "red tape & hoops" that she and all the other teachers had to go through. Last year she moved to a gifted school and is happier than she has been in a long time. I think you have made the right decision and hope you can find something closer.

Andy, to me, looks just like Matt!!! He is too cute.

What a cutie!

You know in your heart what's best. Your little one needs your attention too! I hope you can find a job closer to home..

Every teacher I know has similar complaints to yours. Whatever happened to the teaching? Isn't THAT your actual job???

As Andy is top priority now (along with your happiness), I hope you can find a better work situation.

He's so beautiful! And sweet!

And don't feel bad. You've been so generous with your time and skills for a long time now.
