A Golden Apple, A Wooden Horse
This is my ABC poem. Too bad it requires explaining. A good poem shouldn't. Oh well. Got this from Niobe who got it from slouching mom, who got it from sanne .
Aphrodite’s beauty conquers
Demurest earthly features.
Giant Hephaestus idles jealously,
Knowing lovers move nearer.
Obtuse
salvos then unfolding violently.
Yowling Zeus.
*Not the city of
+ Xenium=gift to a visitor, in this case, the golden apple
Masterful. I'll link it up shortly.

Wow, erudite... I'm impressed.

I love it. But you know my weakness for classical references. And the title is perfect too.

Very, very good! I'm impressed. But you thought you had to explain the Paris reference to us? What sort of uneducated slobs do you think we are?
(errr, except, I had no idea on "Xenium." thanks for explaining that one.)

Never for you Furrow... but I read it to my friend and she thought I meant the city. But then she's not a member of the literati. I'm waiting for yours. : )

Ancient Greece has always been fascinating ... very poetic, indeed!

wonderful! these are all so cool.

Ooooo, yours is so very literary and historical all at once! Very impressive. And quite timely in our house as my son's summer reading is 'The Goddess of Yesterday' which is a fictionalized telling of the Trojan War- sort of. So, even my 12 year old would have understood the "Paris" reference now!

Very nice! The kids and I have been reading Greek Myths lately. I'll have to share this with them.
