I volunteered to attend three days of paid training because I was bored. I was hoping that it would make the day go by faster so I'd be three days closer to taking Critter home. Boy was I wrong. Timed seemed to stand still today. After what seemed like an eternity listening to the trainer "blah blah blah" I glanced up at the clock and only one and a half hours had ticked by. It was torture. What was ironic about it was that this woman was lecturing to us about how to be engaging teachers. This happens quite frequently in teaching inservices. Furthermore, I did not realize that this inservice was sponsored by a textbook company. I'm sure the final day will be spent listening to how wonderful their product is and how it will make teaching so much easier. Did I mention the uncomfortable chairs? The only saving thing was that three other teachers from my school are attending so I got to catch up on gossip. However we should have saved some for the next two days. At one point I even asked the presenter, quietly of course, when we would be leaving. And yes, I played my pregnancy card often. I took about ten "bathroom" breaks, five water breaks, and two breaks where I just wandered around the halls with a glazed over look. I really shouldn't complain since it is paid training, which means more money for the "Critter" fund. I'm definitely going to bring the crossword tomorrow or something to occupy my time. Maybe I'll write a love letter to DH? Yeah, that's what I'll do.
